Thursday opens the door to „Thursday Doors“ time , hosted by Dan Antion.
A brief look back at the time when phones could be found either at home or in public pay phones. Not always being reachable—or not always being able to call someone right away—didn’t just have the advantages that are romanticized today; people were also dependent on the infrastructure provided by pay phones. And at home, you had one phone—if you had one at all—and not every family member had their own.
The image is also meant to illustrate, at least in part, that the telephone has always been a gateway to communication, alongside writing.
