Based on Judy Dykstra-Brown´s “Numbers Game”, we are playing round #121, and we search pictures which have the 243 in the file name or as sequence number.
The series begins today with a photo from Vietnam—more specifically, from the Chez Carole Resort in Phu Quoc, where I spent Labor Day during my work trip to Ho Chi Minh City. In Vietnam, too, May 1 is a public holiday. (2014)

We’re staying by the water—or rather, in the water. We went snorkeling off Key West on August 1, 2014.
Sometimes it’s the little details that make the difference. At the US Car Meet in Böblingen (Germany), this regal valve cap caught my eye (2015)

On June 20, 2019, I had the opportunity to take a portrait of Moira Menari. In the meantime, she is Dance World Champion 2025 (WADF choreographed contemporary ballet solo) and a seven-time Swiss dance champion in jazz and showdance.

Fez, Morocco, a city I have visited many times for work. The craftsmanship in this city is always a feast for the eyes and the camera, as seen here in a pottery workshop on September 24, 2019.

Not only in 2024, but also in previous years, I attended the “Rock This Town” festival in Solothurn, Switzerland. I think I’ve posted a picture of Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band on my blog before. So here they are again: Breezy Peyton on the washboard and Rev. Peyton on guitar.

Hardly a year goes by without me paying a visit to the Bavarian Railway Museum in Nördlingen. There, a group of volunteers works tirelessly to preserve railway technology from past decades for future generations. This includes this Class 44 freight steam locomotive, which once hauled heavy freight trains. (2025)

Once one of the largest spinning mills in Germany, today an abandoned site. Industrial history covered in patina and dust. If you walk through such facilities quietly and listen closely, you can hear the machines telling their stories. (July 13, 2025)
The opposite of quiet is “Rotten Raptors” camp at ”DGT,“ a LARP and fantasy weekend in Aach near Lake Constance. Drawing inspiration from “Post-Apocalypse“ and “Mad Max“, these amateur doomsday enthusiasts stage battles in the Thunder Dome and try to look as terrifying as possible. But deep down, they’re all really nice. (August 2025)
